This could be a very great idea if you want to switch a person from using Windows to use Linux..
This is the stupidest idea ever. Why would you want to make Linux look like a second rate OS?
I think otherwise, this is a great idea for someone who always used windows but want to try out linux but not trying just because of - how to use linux interface and commands.
XPgnome will make this user to use Linux just like XP.
its a nice idea.. suppose one has converted to XP theme then tell me how i can uninstall to get my original look Linux back
It's not a terrible idea, suppose someone new to Linux wanted to make their desktop look more like Windows, but didn't want to go back to Windows, XPGnome would be very wise! Then they could just get WINE and voila! They would have a "WINux" computer!
It makes Open Office freeze when I click on the menu. I run on Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy. Could anyone fix it?
Well, that’s impressive. But the Royal theme is so ugly. Why not use the Zune theme for XP?
This will totally help my parents who can only just about tech talks handle Windows XP - but they have old hardware and could not cope with a change of GUI interface. Excellent.
The Luna theme has been converted to GTK3 and now works properly on the MATE and GNOME2 desktop environments. The older version of the Windows XP Theme had some glitches in the latest version of Ubuntu running MATE 1.6. However, those issues have been fixed with the conversion.
The updated theme can be downloaded here (this version also contains an installer):
