How To disable telnet service

Login as root to your server:

Edit /etc/xinetd.d/telnet
# vi /etc/xinetd.d/telnet

Search for: "disable = no"
Change it to: disable = yes

Save and Exit

Restart xinted
# /etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd restart
