It didn't work for me. Neither kaffeine nor vlc do play media files. Vlc becomes blank when i choose a .wmv or .mpg file, looks a lot like a crash. Kaffeine tells me it can't handle this kind of ressource. What to do next? I use OpenSuSe 11, Linux 2.6.25.16-0.1-pae i686 with KDE 3.5.9 "release 49.1".

the poll at the top of this page is a little bit off. I use opensuse, and found this page on a Google using keywords, one of which included 'opensuse'. I think that a lot of opensuse users found it this way too, perhaps explaining why so many votes for opensuse. I personally do not believe it is as high as the poll makes it seem.

Multimedia support on opsnSUSE proved to be a real nightmare for me. I waisted several hours for nothing (should have switched back to Ubuntu right away).
